Ryan Kodak Brown

Добавлен 18 фев 2018
My name's Ryan Brown, but on trail, people call me Kodak.
You get the hint: I'm always behind my camera. Sharing stories from inspiring places and people is what I love to do. In 2012, I decided to sell everything I own and start traveling. Ever since, I've explored the world by bike, by car and on foot. Long-distance hiking and bike-packing are still my favorite ways of getting around.
10 years later and I'm still out there, but now together with my wife Ilse, whom I've met on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Follow our adventures here or on our website (www.wilderland.media).
Happy trails & thanks for following along!

Bikepacking the Montañas Vacías: 700km across Spain's wild landscapes
This is Ilse's first bikepacking adventure! She has never ridden more than 30km's on her city bike on the flat, city roads of Belgium. We followed the Montanas Vacias, a stunning bikepacking route that winds through the most remote region of Spain. We deal with mud that clings to everything and makes pedaling impossible. We encounter snow. We even run out of food. Most of all though, we enjoy our time in the wilderness and experience the culture of Spain.

In October 2021, wildfires drove us off the #pacificcresttrail. With nothing but time on our hands, we rented an SUV in Oregon and roadtripped across the USA. Our goal for the trip? To sleep under the stars, explore the vast deserts and arrive in Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving with Ryan’s family. 💛 We hope you enjoyed the video! I love this van... you need such a great job..and very cute too... your girlfriend is lucky
Amazing and goods feelings ! what do you use as a camera to film?
It seems you enjoyed your adventure here and I love that. No time now to watch the full video but I'll come back.
I think i just heard "kamusta" 🙂 watching from Philippines.. Enjoy riding! 💯
So many good people on the trail 😊
Am hoping to try southbound next year. Your video concentrates on the trail i really appreciate that.
I'm really glad you came to Spain 😊 It kills me to see mirrored clips because I see you riding on the left side of the road in Spain haha Also the brake disc and derailleur are on opposite sides 🙈
Hahahaha, good eye! Most would never notice
Thank you for sharing this! I'm starting to plan a Toyota Sienna build and have been looking at a convertable sofa bed solution without building , this is definitely the best application I've seen so far.
Awesome! Best of luck with the project! Enjoy!
Amazing trail! This makes me wanna get on a plane and go hike it myself. Wonderful adventure guys !
Heck yeah! Glad you enjoyed it, hope to see you out there!
This is so pretty! Do you have the name of the lake?
There were so many lakes! Which do you mean?
It was great to watch this and see you two back. Came across your page on the great divide trail video. Thanks for sharing these adventures
Thank you! We’re happy you’re enjoying the journeys!
Your trunk is reminding me of Mary Popins carpet bag. Hilarious how much you have in there.
Hahahaha she was my inspiration 😉
Dodge GC are great vehicles. I have had a few over the years.
Chains can also get you out of mud. Just harder to clean up. Put a few bags in your pottie all at once. put one inside another. then you always have a clean one when you pulla bag.
Beautiful film. What camera did you use?
Thank you. Sony A7C
@@RyanKodakBrown awesome. That is the camera I use as well.
@@Kmans106 It’s a great camera and so small for a full frame camera!
Amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
영상이 너무 좋아서 보고 또 보고 정말 아름답고 멋집니다 저도 자전거로 세계여행해보는게 버킷리스트입니다 언제나 홧팅 응원합니다🥰
I love the feel of your videos. There is a positive mood, even in the face of tyres gummed up with mud and extreme tiredness. Your camping gear is very similar to my bikepacking setup. I have the same tent, sleeping gear and stove. You planned a challenging route for one of your early bike trips. So hats off to you both for your resilience.
❤🚵♂️👍😊

I started watching a sobo hike series and ended up watching a beautiful love story.. May you both have a life of great joy together.
Great vid. What sandals were you wearing?
Thank you. Bedrocks
Heck yeah! Incredible video. Would y'all ever consider posting your itinerary and some tips on how you got from A to B?
Thank you. Our itinerary wasn’t ideal but was based off the GDTA recommendation for medium hike (whatever they call it!) they list three sample itineraries and I’d base your hike off one of there’s. As for tips, anything in particular questions? I’d be happy to help if I can.
nice trip....parabéns...saludos......desde Brasil
A thoroughly enjoyable narrative and great content. Thanks so much for producing and sharing this. Greetings from South Africa.
Yes I too was annoyed that the grill didn’t quite fit right. Plus mine had big patches of imperfect paint inside. But it works!

I have the same van. The wife and I camped in the N.C. mountains. We used a select comfort full size mattress. it stows easily. We had a great time. Thanks for the vids.
Thanks for sharing!
Gift me that bike U said y won’t try again Can’t wait to go on my first trip😊
Good luck!
How do u survive 😂😂
Muito lindo bonito😊😊😅
Absolutely wonderful!! Congrats to everyone involved! Kodak & Cinnamon are very fortunate to have found each other....they have quite a story! Treasure all that you share! Peace and continued health.....
❤🎉
Most enjoyable!
Good tutorial, thanks! How many feet of rope do you suggest having?
50ft is a good starting point though you could probably get away with less. Remember the rope is doubled so if food should be 12ft high at least you’ll need an absolute minimum of 24ft but with knots and branches being a bit higher sometimes… yeah, 40-50ft and then shorten if you find you can.
And search for arborist throw line! It’s the best bear cord. Super strong and very thin and light.
@@RyanKodakBrown yeah, I bought 250 feet of that five years ago, it's like an endless supply! I usually tie my food bag (Out Sak and Smelly Proof bags combo )to the tree at head level, but the Boundary Waters enacted stricter food storage regs.
Awww totally lived in Flag and I have a caravan that I converted for camping too ❤
